In this 10-week course, you’ll learn about smart financial habits, develop skills to help manage your money, use online resources to find benefits, and save money online. This course is much more than budgeting! By the end of this course, you will also know how to shop online to find the best deals, search for flights and hotels on the internet, access movies and music, and earn extra income.

Exploring Social Media

Wanna know what all the fuss is about? Come get the 411 on social media. Sign up for this series that meets twice per week over five weeks. You’ll learn about the most popular social media platforms and have the opportunity to sign up for the platforms you’re interested in, so you can tweet, post, and tag to your heart’s content.

Course Description

This 5-week course explores the basics of using your smartphone’s digital camera. It will meet twice per week in person, and you will access course materials on Senior Planet U, our online learning platform. You will learn how to take pictures, where they are stored on your device, and how to delete them. You will also go over tips for taking selfies, recording videos, and sharing your photos! This course also introduces some fundamental photography principles about composition and lighting.

Course Description
This 5-week course covers the essentials of how to use the basic functions of a personal computer, how to navigate the internet, and how to send and receive email. By the end of the course, you’ll have a foundation for using a computer and the internet to enrich your life. We highly recommend that you follow Computer Essentials with Introduction to Digital Culture, which will offer additional practice.

Intro to Digital Culture

February 13 – March 15

Course Description

From communicating with others to staying healthy, digital tools and technologies affect much of our lives. By the end of this 5-week course, you’ll use the internet to contact your lawmakers, learn about health-related topics, connect with others offline and online, and explore your interests and passions. You’ll also learn best practices for staying safe online and using social media. This course is a great opportunity to meaningfully practice skills that you learned in a Basics or Essentials course.
