Over the past year, Canada’s central bank has embarked on an aggressive hiking cycle that took its key interest rate from the pandemic low of 0.25 per cent to 4.5 per cent. And it may not be done yet.

The battle against inflation has been complicated by a stronger-than-expected economy, casting even more uncertainty on the central bank’s next move.
