- Special Presentation on Thursday, 2/9: Composting and Recycling 101 ♻️
Join us at the center on Thursday, February 9 from 2:15pm-3:30pm MST for a presentation hosted by Lowry United Neighborhood's (LUN) Sustainability Committee Chair, Renee Arrington.
This presentation will get everyone acquainted with city-provided compost bins and explain more about what materials go in compost, recycle and trash. Learn more here!
- Additional Days & Times! — In-Person, One-on-One Tech Assistance 📱
Due to popular demand, we've added additional times for tech assistance. You can now join us every Monday & Wednesday afternoon, Tuesday morning, and Thursday morning & afternoon! To sign up for an appointment, please call 720-328-0875, email [email protected], or stop by the center. Walk-in appointments are NOT available. You must register or book an appointment ahead of time. Thank you!
- Want to Host an Event at Senior Planet? 🧑🏫
Our center in Lowry is a great place to get together with friends, in addition to attending courses and lectures. Do you have your own book club, social group, or presentation that you would like to host at the center? Our available technology, conference room, tv screens, and café area can make for a great space for these events. Upcoming Presentation: Denver Composting & Recycling 101
|
 Join us at the center on Thursday, February 9 from 2:15pm-3:30pm MST for a presentation from Lowry United Neighborhood's (LUN) Sustainability Committee Chair Renee Arrington.
Beginning in January 2023, Denver will expand residential recycling and compost collection services to reduce the amount of trash Denver sends to the landfill and the production of harmful greenhouse gas emissions. (Waste in the landfill decomposes and generates methane — a powerful greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming and climate change.)
Under the city’s new expanded waste services, trash bins will now have a small charge; the smaller the trash bin you need, the smaller the fee. Recycle and compost bins are free AND recycling will be picked up every week! Now is the perfect time to put more into recycling and composting and get the smallest trash bin.
This presentation will get everyone acquainted with city-provided compost bins and explain more about what materials go in compost, recycle and trash.
