Welcome to another week of events at Senior Planet in Colorado! Now that classes have begun, I hope that everyone is off to a good start and excited to learn!
As many of you know, we have had a lot of snowy conditions lately that have impacted our center being open. We want to say thank you for your understanding for any closures and cancelations, but safety is a priority!
For any future inclement weather events, our center follows the protocols in place for Denver Public Schools. We will also post any updates on our website, so please visit seniorplanet.org/colorado if you're unsure if the center will be open or not.

- Want to Host an Event at Senior Planet? 🧑🏫
Our center in Lowry is a great place to get together with friends, in addition to attending courses and lectures. Do you have your own book club, social group, or event that you would like to host at the center? Our available technology, conference room, tv screens, and café area can make for a great space for these events. If you are interested in reserving a room or using our the center for your event, please email me at [email protected]!
- In-Person, One-on-One Tech Assistance 📱
Did you know? We have tech assistance available every Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon! To sign up for an appointment, please call 720-328-0875, email [email protected], or stop by the center. Walk-in appointments are NOT available. You must register or book an appointment ahead of time. Thank you!
- Special Event: Dementia 101 + Reducing Your Risk 🧠
Join us at the center on Monday, January 30 for a presentation hosted by JJ Jordan of Dementia Friendly Denver. She will discuss a range of topics including warning signs of dementia, caregiver challenges, the latest research, and things to do at any age to reduce dementia risk. See below for more details.

Dementia 101 + Reducing Your Risk

 Join guest speaker JJ Jordan of Dementia Friendly Denver for a special presentation — Dementia 101 + Reducing Your Risk — including basic facts about Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. We will cover a wide range of dementia-related topics including the latest promising research updates, warning signs and symptoms, diagnosis guidelines, a caregiving overview, dementia-friendly tips for communication, interaction, and behaviors, and the things anyone can do at any age to reduce risk or delay onset of dementia.

Take a Virtual Tour of Banff National Park in Canada!
 This quarter, Senior Planet and Discover Live will be taking you on even more virtual live tours through three magnificent destinations. This week, we'll be making our first stop:
Banff National Park, Canada
Join us on Friday, January 27 at 1:30pm EST to discover Canada's first and most famous National Park. On this one hour personal, live, interactive, virtual walking tour, we will explore wilder areas (where there is good reception) to show you the incredible wilderness. Banff encompasses 6,641 square kilometers (over 4,100 square miles) of mountainous terrain, with many glaciers and icefields, dense coniferous forest, and alpine landscapes. Banff has over 994 miles of beautiful walking trails — let's explore some of them!
