Greetings, Upper East Siders. As Gossip Girl eats its last yogurt on the Met steps with today’s season (and, for now, series) finale, we’re thinking about the first time we met. By which we mean the Met Gala, of course. For the first time in series history, New York’s most stylish and scandalous fictional high schoolers all converged for the legendary Met Costume Institute Gala, and the show’s costume team went all out in dressing them to the nines and tens. Tyler McCall reports on how Gossip Girl recreated the gala from the ground up.
Elsewhere in HWD, Everything Everywhere All at Once is gonna need some more hot dog fingers to count all its nominations. Here’s a breakdown of this year’s Oscar nominations, by the numbers. As the Sundance Film Festival wraps up and Hollywood comes down from the mountain, Vanity Fair’s Little Gold Men examines the relationship between the fest and the Oscars. Get your first look at the TV adaptation of The Power, which stars Toni Collette and imagines a world where teenage girls have an electric hold on society. Suit up, because the fourth season of Succession finally has a release date and a new trailer—and the Roys are getting real. All this and more, today in HWD!
