Let’s Argue About Sex and the City
|
In honor of the 25th anniversary of HBO’s signature romantic comedy—and the upcoming second season of the sequel series And Just Like That…, coming to Max on June 22—we here at VF have decided to while away the hours debating who, exactly, was the worst man on Sex and the City. Our answers range from the obvious (Big, Berger, the second Carrie boyfriend played by Justin Theroux) to the unorthodox. Here, for instance, is the case Chris Murphy makes against Anthony, the tart-tongued event planner played by Mario Cantone: “He’s an incredibly accurate depiction of how vapid and shallow (some) gay men can be.”
Elsewhere in HWD, Daniela Tijerina recruits the women behind the Instagram account @everyoutfitonsatc to take a look back at the pilot of Sex and the City; Paul Walter Hauser opens up about how Black Bird changed his life; Dominique Fishback brings us inside her Swarm; and staffers highlight eight of this season’s most memorable TV episodes.
