Welcome to the spring edition of the Horizon Europe newsletter!

Sunny days arrived in Luxembourg, and even though we are sure that you might be tempted to go outside and enjoy the warm temperature, we have gathered a lot of interesting material to keep you reading on your computer or your phone for some more minutes.

You will find articles on the new amended Work Programmes in Horizon Europe, new calls launched, but also important requirements your proposals have to adhere to when it comes to the very actual topic of strategic autonomy. You will read about the recent successes in the WomenTechEU programme, dedicated to innovative deep-tech projects led by women, and you will also find an updated list of upcoming sectorial events to increase your involvement in the European programmes for research and innovation.

Two Luxembourg start-ups supported by WomenTechEU

In the framework of the WomenTechEU programme dedicated to innovative deep-tech projects led by women, two Luxembourg companies, supported by Luxinnovation, have received European financial aid.

Built4People: enabling people-centric, smart and sustainable buildings

The Built4People partnership will channel nearly €400million of EU funding to drive the transition to a people-centric and sustainable built environment. A workshop at the Luxinnovation on 10 May 2023 brought together various stakeholders to discuss the priorities for the 2023-2024 Built4People programme and possibilities for Luxembourg companies.

Healthtech start-up Arspectra has been in contact with Luxinnovation ever since its creation in 2018. After participating in the Fit 4 Start accelerator programme the same year, it has also received valuable input from the agency to get innovative projects off the ground and, most recently, to successfully apply for funding from the prestigious European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator.

Spring amendment of Horizon Europe Work Programme offers more funding opportunities under Cluster 3

The European Commission has amended the 2023-2024 Horizon Europe Work Programme. Very few changes appear, except for Cluster 3 – Civil security for society, which will offer six additional funding opportunities in 2024. Read more

€215.5 million available for advancing Europe’s circular bio-based economy

CBE JU opens the 2023 calls for proposals. A total of €215.5 million will be dedicated to advancing competitive circular bio-based industries in Europe across 18 topics. All stakeholders of the circular bio-based industries ecosystem can apply by 20 September 2023, 17:00 Brussels time. Read more
