Friends of Greentown,
Happy Valentine’s Day! Here at Greentown, we share our love for the planet every day, but today, we wanted to share our appreciation for this community and all you do to help reduce emissions, decarbonize our economy, and make working on this extremely important and urgent cause something to look forward to everyday. If you want to learn more about just how much climatetech love we shared with the startup ecosystems in Boston and Houston last year, check out our newly released 2022 Impact Report! You’ll see that the 500+ startups that have come through our doors have raised more than $4B in funding, generated over $9.8B in regional economic impact, created more than 24,000 jobs, and seen a 94 percent survival rate—and we have no plans to slow this momentum down!
Now let’s get into upcoming events for February and March so we can keep sharing the climatetech love:

ELECTRICITY SECTOR PITCH DAY
Reminder for next week: you can join Greentown virtually or in-person on Feb. 21 for the first Sector Pitch Day of 2023, focused on reducing electricity-related emissions. This invite-only event will feature a speaking program, startup pitches, and an opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs, corporates, and fellow investors working in the energy space. Register here if you want to convene with fellow leaders to discuss the challenges that the industry faces and how to collaboratively tackle them!
And if you would like to meet our fundraising startups in the sector before the event begins, please reach out to me about a spot at our private investor networking lunch—we still have a few spots open. |
|
ACCEL KICKOFF
On Feb. 23, join us in-person in Boston to celebrate the kickoff of ACCEL, an accelerator program for BIPOC-led startups from Greentown and Browning the Green Space. At this event, hear from innovative startups that are developing climate solutions for decarbonization and resilience.
If you have any questions or want to see how you can support or get involved, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at [email protected]. |

MARCH NETWORKING
We’ve got your favorite monthly networking events coming up in March, and for the first time in a while, I will be at both of them! On March 6, join me and the Danish Delegation at Greentown Houston’s Transition On Tap. And at the end of the month, I’ll be back in Boston for our EnergyBar on March 30. This will be a fun one—it’s the Final Showcase for Go Make 2022, a Greentown Go program led by Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas) and supported by the M-Lab Companies, focused on decarbonizing supply chains, from production through packaging and distribution. And if you can’t make it in-person, don’t worry—the showcase and speaking program will be livestreamed. |
