ChatGPT’s Mind-Boggling, Possibly Dystopian Impact on the Media World
Good morning from the Hive newsroom. The robots are here: CEO Jonah Peretti has announced that “AI-inspired content” will be part of Buzzfeed’s “core business” going forward, Joe Pompeo reports, in an exploration of the growing fears around ChatGPT in the media world, including the prospect of robot plagiarism.
Meanwhile, Kevin McCarthy’s House is saying there will have to be deep budget cuts before Republicans sign on to raising the debt ceiling, but as Eric Lutz points out, those same Republicans are staying mum on what exactly should be cut. Charlotte Klein digs into all the speculation around the Murdoch family’s decision to toss out plans to merge Fox and News Corp. In other news, Bess Levin finds that Donald Trump has apparently become a big texter, which has some associates (understandably) concerned about what the guy might send.
