From Amber Nettles, SVP of Growth & Strategy
Obviously, we’re still recovering from producing our Best of Chicago issue last week, and we’re so thrilled to celebrate the best people, places, and things that make Chicago amazing. In addition to the ballot, our editorial team independently creates highlights of some of their “Best of CHicago” from the past year. This issue, that includes: Best midnight screening of an iconic early-200s movie, Best used poetry section in Chicago, Best woman-owned cannabis brand, Best housing case manager who takes no shit while getting shit done, and dozens of others. Our annual Best of Chicago issue is a labor of love, and wouldn’t happen without the work of our editorial staff, the growth teams (marketing, digital, advertising, development), our freelance writers, printer and deliver drivers, and of course, YOU. Hope you were able to grab a copy (this was the first glossy cover in YEARS!) and you can always read through the contents here, or view and download the PDF here!

P.S. We are still accepting advertising for our 4/20 print issue until Wednesday at noon. E-mail us for rates and deadlines!

Branded content in 2023
Tell Your Story to our Readers
The Reader loves to work with businesses and individuals with great stories to tell, and we’re happy to discuss the various options for branded content series! For an example, check out
Cityscape, a branded content partnership of the Chicago Architecture Center, Chicago History Museum, and Wrightwood 659, along with the Reader’s architecture coverage. You can also see examples from LaLaMove, DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Tourist Office of Spain in Chicago, along with our Bull Horn series (sponsored by Red Bull in 2021) and our Poetry Corner (created in partnership with the Poetry Foundation). Contact us to talk about telling your story!

The Reader, en español

Sponsors sought to support Spanish translations
To better serve our Spanish-speaking communities, the Reader is now translating and publishing some of its stories into Spanish. We’re seeking sponsors to help underwrite the cost of this endeavor. Sponsorship packages (click here to view) include print and digital tags, as well as additional media placements. Contact us today to partner in this project.
