Are You Ready for Some Football?
This time last year, on the eve of the first Sunday of NFL action, I wouldn’t have had enough football stories to fill Hive P.S. But Tom Kludt’s interview this week with Fox analyst Greg Olsen, who has to contend with Tom Brady coming for his job, was a reminder of how much coverage of sports—and, specifically, where it intersects with media and culture—has ticked up at the Hive in recent months.
So let’s take a brief time-out from the political tumult to revisit Kludt’s sneaker-buying adventure with Travis Kelce, fresh off the Super Bowl champ’s star turn on SNL, along with his reporting on Aaron Rodgers’s New York honeymoon and the Jets getting the Hard Knocks treatment. Plus, Kludt explored how the NFL—perhaps the most dominant force in television—was training its fans to love streaming, and how the once-sleepy draft has morphed into Coachella.
We hope you enjoy the Hive’s take on football, though if fútbol is more your thing, we have youcovered, too.
