Alec Baldwin to Be Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter in Rust Shooting
|
After an in-depth investigation into the October 2021 shooting on the New Mexico set of Rust, Alec Baldwin, along with armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Halyna Hutchins, the Santa Fe district attorney announced today. In a statement, the DA office’s special prosecutor called out a “pattern of criminal disregard for safety” on the movie’s set. Meanwhile, Baldwin’s attorney said in a statement that “we will fight these charges, and we will win.”
Elsewhere in HWD, the Gossip Girl revamp has sent its last blind item and has been canceled after two seasons. The BAFTA nominations are here, and there’s one big film that seems to be missing. Jennifer Garner is back in action in a thriller—with a streak of emotional found-family feelings, to boot—in the upcoming The Last Thing He Told Me, based on the best-selling novel of the same name. Vanity Fair also has a first look inside Eileen, Anne Hathaway’s strangely gorgeous new project. All this and more, today on HWD!
