Feeling a little stressed? Need a way to relax? We have the class for you. Join us for a lecture all about Mindfulness Apps at White Oak Senior Center on Tuesday, 3/14 at 10:00am. We will go over free apps that you can use to meditate and participate in other mindfulness practices. Hope to see you there!

Interested in Becoming a Foster Grandparent?
|
An opportunity from the Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater Washington
The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) provides social and academic support to elementary children to promote school readiness. Foster Grandparents work one-on-one with children in their classrooms at least 20 hours a week for an entire school year. Among other activities, Foster Grandparents provide and reinforce values to children in a smaller classroom group. At the moment, Foster Grandparents are providing support in local elementary schools and other host sites throughout Montgomery County
Benefits
- Help elementary school children excel in the classroom
- Provide mentorship
- Continuous training for the duration of volunteer service
- $252 Monthly Stipend Benefits (untaxed-based on a 20 hr volunteer week)
Qualifications
- Live in Montgomery County
- 55 years or older • Meet income qualifications
- Pass State & Federal background checks
- Able to get a physical
- Ability to volunteer
