Senior Planet in San Antonio Newsletter January 30 – February 3, 2023

Mindfulness, Mindfulness, Mindfulness |
Is it me, or does 2023 seem busy? If you are like me and are already feeling the stress and strains of the year (even though the year just started), maybe a mindfulness lecture is for you! Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present and aware. You can practice mindfulness through simple activities.
Senior Planet in San Antonio will be offering a class called “Mindfulness Apps” this week at various senior centers across the county. This lecture introduces mindfulness and its physical and mental benefits, such as reducing anxiety, improving memory, and lowering blood pressure. You’ll learn about popular apps that teach breathing and meditation techniques, as well as new technology like wearable breath monitors and smart yoga mats.
We are offering this in-person lecture at multiple locations this week. Please see the schedule below to catch this blissful discussion.
Have a peaceful week!

We are looking for Senior Planet participants, Supporters, and past students located in San Antonio, TX who want to share the benefits you have experienced from our classes. You can share your stories of empowerment through learning technology, feeling connected by finding online friends, or discussing the impact of finding jobs or financial resources online.
Together we can inspire older adults in our community and disrupt ageism surrounding technology.

Learning, social connections, great conversations, and fun do not have to stop during this period of social isolation. We’re a community of people 60 and older who are harnessing the power of technology to change the way we age. |
|
|
If you’re reading this far down, we admire you. You investigate the fine print. You push past limits. You commit. In other words, we think you’re Senior Planet Supporter material. Senior Planet Supporters are part of a nationwide community of people over 60 who are aging with attitude and fighting to change the way the world views getting older. You can become a Supporter today in about one minute: just click here to make a donation that supports the work of Senior Planet and our parent nonprofit Older Adults Technology Services (OATS). No amount is too small–we mean it. Okay, we’re done. You can get back to your boundary-pushing life. |
